Saks Potts began as a Copenhagen based outerwear brand by designers Cathrine Saks and Barbara Potts. In the cold North, the most important piece in your wardrobe is a beautiful coat to keep you warm, while reflecting your style. The two women soon realized
this and came together to create a very successful niche brand with a loyal celebrity following. Today, Saks Potts has moved from their niche to offer a full collection. Saks Potts designs are not based on short-term trends, but rather work across seasons and thus always feel relevant.
For SS20, Saks Potts presented their collection at the beautiful Royal Danish Music Conservatory in Frederiksberg, the place is also the former studio of the Danish State Broadcaster and Radio DR. After a great deal of waiting and chaos, Saks Potts delivered a solid SS20 show with a little for everyone’s taste. Models walked the stairs and stage of the historical concert hall where wood was smuggled in during Word War 2 to create an amazing acoustic.
The color palette was playful and fresh with several bright prints and colors such as pink, red and blue, while the silhouettes were sleek and fitted and found inspiration from Spanish aesthetics. The collections offered a variety of pieces like dresses, crop tops and pants on top of the outerwear. The feminine expression of the collection is also exemplified through flowy feminine dresses in soft printed satin.
As always, Saks Potts’ outerwear are stand-out pieces and the SS20 collection was full of variety and range from classic pieces like the brown coat with fur lapel and cuffs to contemporary pieces such as the fury blue bomber jacket styled with a colorful bra-top and navy-blue pants. The brown suiting with a corset top and short jacket along with red two-piece of crop top and pants were other stand-out pieces.
Using Femininity as an expression of power, Saks Potts delivered a relevant and interesting SS20 collection that is bound to do well regardless of the season.
