Lisbon fashion week or Moda Lisboa kicked off today with a string of designers who are the next generation of Portuguese fashion. Among the plethora of designers Ana Duarte's Duarte | Lab stood out. Ana's British training and exposure to London fashion week gave her a leg up in terms of running with a well-constructed narrative. Her expertise is in men's wear but it is her women's wear that truly stood out as a deconstructive process that has been honed by mixing texture to provide solid aesthetic value into men's fashion but has started to permeate her women's line as well. The collection was polished, breezy and above all well thought out. Anna's work has been moving in the right direction since she set up her label in 2013 and with each passing year she pushes the aesthetic elements forward for Portugese fashion.
