Oscar de la Renta's passing in 2014 left a void in the brand's creative cycle. But Renta's team took their time to sort themselves out. Fernando Garcia and Laura Kim is coming on to add to that process. The Spring Summer collection shows the legacy of Renta evolving as opposed being static. The design team has not fully moved away from what is Renta, but they have moved. The silk faille with ruffled hem along with bejeweled flats were the placeholders for the collection. The show had a feel of levity and charm about it.
