Bonnie Young is not so young (at least not in a traditional sense) but her work has the youthful exuberance of a mind much younger. But that is not her only appeal. She substantial experience working for Ralph Lauren and Donna Karan has left an impression on her work. While the rebel within the work is evident it should also be noted that there is a steady head behind the exuberance. And that you can only get after gaining some serious mileage within the industry. Her work which is inspired by visual art of Beyonce with the mixture of savannah and the victorian era suggests an artist with a nuanced understanding of her craft. In a world of fashion and easily forgettable consumer trends, Young's work stand out.
