Munthe has become a staple at Copenhagen Fashion Week and her shows are always much anticipated. Her take on Athleisure is exciting, bold and never dull.
Munthe’s AW20 collection entitled Disruption consisted of interchangeable styles that can be mixed and matched, allowing a synergetic versatility. The AW20 collection was as spectacular as expected. It was colourful, bold, fresh and versatile. Models walked a checkered carpet matching one of her signature textiles all styled with a short hair-do and boots often thigh-high adding to the editorial appeal of the collection. The colour palette offered a little bit of everything from the rainbow checkered prints to classic navy, black, white and leather brown. The silhouettes went from sleek and fitted to easy and easy-to-wear. The collection featured everything for your wardrobe from outerwear to suiting, dresses, and athleisure. So many looks stood out such as the delicate dove blue printed dress with the black, white and rainbow-colored yin yang symbol and the multi-coloured checkered pants styled with a white t-shirt with a distorted image of a Queen’s Lifeguard. Among the crowd favourites were shiny black outfit along with an ivory outfit, and a printed dress with cut-out details at the shoulders and long sleeves. “A black, white and rainbow-coloured Yin Yang symbol imposes a trademark of popularity and the best of both worlds. Life is not black and white, it’s a million shades of grey. As there is no right or wrong, it depends upon the perception of the person,” is what Munthe was trying to achieve in her exploration of balance and life.
Munthe’s AW20 collection was all the way very Munthe and will undoubtedly do well, not only with her loyal following, but also with fashion editors.
