Wrapped in Diane von Furstenberg
by Bianca Hill
When Jonathan Saunders took over as creative director of Diane von Furstenberg he had a lot to live up to. In his second collection is surpassing what is expected of him with flying colors (no pun intended). The new collection aptly named "Textile House" is an exposition of color and an exploration of DvF history. His spontaneous introduction of lucid colors along with intricate fabrics provide a sense of new within an old and established brand. Even the logo of DVF is changing. If DVF was built on it's history of the wrap dress, then it is moving forward on the whimsical vision of Saunders. From color drenched Japanese silk to clingy knits the pre-fall collection has its feet in the past but head into the future.
